About James Starma.
From the age of 15 James - Starma - discovered music production, which quickly led to picking up records and learning to beat match. Before leaving high school he had already made a name for himself as the school DJ; that turned into a mobile DJ business, and by graduation he was playing the school socials and formals. Formally trained as a wedding DJ and MC, Starma built his name across Perth's wedding scene, which led on to residencies and guest appearances across Perth clubs and eight years in Melbourne playing pop-up parties in warehouses and alleyways.
He formed the band Hesteria producing drum and bass, drum step, electro house, deep house and techno, and picked up beatboxing as a way to get ideas out of his head fast - later adding effects and live-looping through a Kaoss Pad. He has since travelled the world DJing pubs, clubs and hostels, capped off with a set at Burning Man in Nevada, and debuted beatbox acrobatic live-looping at Blazing Swan before touring it up the Western Australian coast to Ningaloo.
Starma specialises in professional DJ and MC services for weddings and is professionally trained to make sure everything runs smoothly - from planning the timeline through to working with photographers, videographers, caterers, staff and guests. High-quality music, professional-grade speakers, intimate and colourful lighting, and fun, eclectic MC skills to carry your guests across the evening's formalities.
